Our Mission: To promote career advancements and leadership skills of women in the building industry to ultimately increase the number of women in leadership in our industry.
Join a Women in the Building Industry Committee
We encourage you to get involved by participating on one (or MORE) of our 3 committees. By getting involved on our committees you will have a better opportunity to build relationships, expand your network, gain exposure, and give back to our industry and the community.
EDUCATION / EVENTS
The Education Committee will plan the educational events to promote growth and professional development of WBI members. Education topics could include technical training, soft skills and others. The committee will also organize, promote, and execute a year-long roster of social, and networking opportunities. These events will include Networking Events, Panel Discussions, Educational Events, and more. The committee will also encourage members to participate in other NVBIA events. Committee members will also be responsible for advertising and obtaining sponsorships for all programs and events.
The Community Service Committee creates programs that support the goals of WBI and the charitable groups supported by NVBIA such as HomeAid and Women Giving Back. The committee will provide volunteer support and will help raise funds, provide volunteer support and coordinate Community Service Events. The committee will promote working with local K through 12 and/or Colleges to introduce young women to career opportunities in building.
PR / COMMUNICATIONS
The PR Committee will be responsible for advertising the events and activities planned by the Education and Community Service Committees. The PR Committee will also act as a new member liaison by welcoming and connecting new WBI members to others in the group and in the industry. The goals of the committee will be to grow WBI, to work with NVBIA members to educate them about the group and to expand the regional networking opportunities for women in our industry. The PR Committee will manage the LinkedIn page and will be responsible for gathering blog posts, Industry know-how articles, job postings, member successes, etc. It will be our way to get “published.” If you like to write articles, are savvy with social media, or like to photograph events, then this is the committee for you.
